Where can you write to me?

September30

It all started with my old blog at Blogger. Back then, I installed a tagBoard or a shoutbox neatly (well, at least I think it was neat) on the sidebar so my friends or daily visitors or even complete strangers can stop by and leave a comment. A comment which didn’t related to any of my posts. Sometimes it even so unimportant like “Hi Eric!” but hey, I like unimportant things :) Honestly. Not too much though. So here, now, where can a visitor write anything, unrelated to any of my posts, to me? If you want to leave a message, now I already provided a contact form on the navigation bar on the header above. Just leave a message and say hello to me. As for the tagboard shoutbox kind of thingy, I may never put it here unless you wanted it so. What do you think?

Matt, can I get a massage too?

September30

Here is what I got on my dashboard:

Important: WordPress.com will be getting a massage (with Flickr, of course) for about an hour very late tonight (around 3 AM PST). Please let them relax, the service will be back as soon as possible.

Buzzing about Wordpress.com

September29

More people talking about Wordpress.com. More people asking for invites. More Wordpress.com blogs made each day. Then you give your invite away to someone else. Repeat that and you got a huge chain of links. That could mean one thing. Wordpress.com is gaining popularity. Fast. This is the power of open source software. This is one big advantage of Wordpress. Do you agree? Link from Weblog Tools Collection.

Best Way to view Vader

September29

The best way for you to see a K2-Vader schemed blog like mine is to turn off the light at night. The colors and the picture is more dramatic this way. Do you like it? Tips from Budi.

Not much but enough

September29

It was Thursday night. Too quick for supper, too late for dinner. An old man slowly walked into a street vendor’s tent. His face was somehow complex, a mix between nothingness and deep sadness. The place was a bit dirty and crowded but he didn’t seem to care. He sat on the far corner chair, a cheap blue plastic chair, and ordered one fried rice with some chilly sauce, not too much but enough. He waited for his order glancing to the street out there. Fancy cars, speeding Angkot, a group of teenagers sat right in front of an alley, a street lamp flickering on and off, the government suck, the gas price is rising unreasonably, the war everywhere, corruption, oh just the usual stuff in real world. Nothing really matter to him though. He just stare at the some point of nothingness. When the fried rice was served, he took some pickles and then started to eat the rice. Slowly. Bite after bite. Sometime he stared outside again for a while. Not sure if he had some purpose in doing so. Slowly but sure he finished his meal, took a glass of hot tea and take a sip, again slowly. Minutes have passed but nothing seem to change on this old man. Slowly he reached into his pocket, pulling some money. He handle it as if it would tear apart the second it was pulled. He paid for the fried rice. Cheap but enough for the hunger. He then walked across the street, stopped for a second, thinking perhaps, and then continuing his life’s journey. Ah, maybe he was just taking a break from this crazy world. Not much, but enough.

K2 r96, Vader 1.5 and more

September29

Michael is right. Chris is definitely on fire. The K2 revision is now up to r96. And who knows if it will updated again soon enough. We are just happy to see the development while Michael is invading his own weblog. We’ll just wait and see, who will finish it first? K2 or Invader? :) Michael also announced Vader 2. Great! But I still love the Vader I got from David. I just prefer the orange links rather than the blue. So I mix it. Should I call this Vader 1.5? And if you are a huge fans of the header and love it as much as I do, well, it is the artwork of Michael’s friend, Rasmus. Definitely worth my time. I know that I write on the title that there will be more. But it is not. This is all. Yes, so I lie. Sue me :)

UPDATE 29.09.05: I just have to try it myself to believe this all. From this entry on, my weblog is running on K2 beta one r96. What’s new? The AJAX commenting system is cool. The new asides is different but okay. The sidebar asides quantity now can be controlled. I notice the post title is changing to a bit lighter font. And Vader scheme is already brought in with this new revision. That is Vader 2 like Michael said. Awesome! I think I am going to settle with Michael’s Vader 2 for a while. Now I know. Care for some K2, everyone?

One month of wordpress.com-ing

September28

For a side blog, that is a blog that is actually not my main blog, a month of blogging is very hard. Believe me. Maintaining two blogs at one time is too much. But I enjoy it nonetheless. With both blogs running different version of Wordpress, I certainly encountered different interfaces, thus different experience. But what I like most about Wordpress is its community. I feel like we are one big happy family :) So I take a bit time now to celebrate my one month running this blog. Many happy times. When I got mentioned as one of the top blogs or the fastest growing blogs. When I got visitors leaving comments. Many confusing times. When I can’t decide what to post or where to post. But rest asure, I will continue blogging here. That’s my latest stats and still counting. This one is the 58th. Geez, that’s plenty.

There are currently 57 posts and 174 comments, contained within 9 categories.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

September28

I know you want to make us, your children, happy. So do we, mom. I know you want us to have a better life. Guess what mom, we are already happy. I know you often worry about us. Well don’t be. We’re both grown up and can take care of ourselves. Why don’t you let us worry about you instead. I know you want to give us everything. Well, mom, we want to give you the world. And today is not the day to talk about us. This is your day. This is all about you. This is for a caring thoughtful hardworker simple cheerful mother and a good friend. Have a Happiest Birthday ever!
